Aya & Co

A store,
by a studio.

A few rooms a year — and the objects that belong in them. Gathered slowly, place by place, from the makers themselves.

— A Note from Aya

A store, gathered slowly.

Aya & Co is a small studio and a small store. We design a handful of homes each year — and we sell the objects we'd put in them into yours.

I started this the way most things worth doing begin: out of a stubborn taste, and a few good friends in workshops far from each other. We meet weavers, potters, stone-cutters, furniture-makers and glass-blowers in their rooms — and we bring some of what we love home with us. The rooms we design become the place where everything is tried. The store is what's left when a room is finished.

We curate things of beauty to create a layered, lived aesthetic.

The studio stays small on purpose. Today we are working on rooms in Hampshire, the Carolinas, Croatia and Singapore — a few at a time, by appointment.

— The Studio

Rooms in the making.

The studio is the engine behind the store. These are the homes we are working on now — listening to the light, the climate, and the people who live there, and choosing, slowly, what belongs.

— Chapter One

India. Opening soon.

The store opens in chapters — one region, one season at a time. Our first is India: blockprinted textiles, hand-thrown brass and clay, kantha throws, hand-knotted dhurries, and a small capsule of objects for the body. Join the list, and we will write when it opens.
